Very soon the membership are going to be asked to give feedback on a number of questions from the Committee. It would greatly help if you would prepare for this by registering an account within this discussion forum. It is very easy. Oh, and dont forget keep the username and password handy.

You will notice that it is easy to leave anonymous comments. Either way, all comment will be welcome once the questions are sent out to the membership.

Just made a posting on Facebook to make members aware that there is a forum. I know it's on the website home page as a link but it's very quiet. My RAF Luqa forum went through about 3 years of quite busy activity, lots of discussions etc. but it does tend to tail off after a while. Need to encourage people somehow but I think Facebook is killing many forums.

My experience is that many people are becoming tired of facebook. Agreed that forum volume can die off after a while but as long as our members are encouraged then it should be fine.
What we don't need is the forum to become (in a sense) competitive with the newsletter. Ive enjoyed reading the newsletters but the articles are too long from many individuals.

What we don't need is the forum to become (in a sense) competitive with the newsletter. Ive enjoyed reading the newsletters but the articles are too long from many individuals. I don't know if your comment about the long articles in the newsletter was passed on to the committee but more people should give their feedback on any topic. Before the recent (April 2016) resignation of 5 (maybe 6!) members of the committee we had agreed that it was too long and needed cutting down. I don't know how many people read it cover to cover but personally I find the 3 or 4 page articles too heavy to wade through. We were also going to start publishing the minutes of meetings but I doubt if there is much chance of that happening now that the original members of the committee are back. A big item we had agreed was the scrapping of the constitution at the next AGM as it is too long, too rigid, too complex and it's a fact that very few of the membership have read it. Committee members had read it of course but it's a case of word blindness after a few pages! Facebook was very popular but since I was one of those that resigned, and I was admin of the facebook page, I don't have much hope that it will be updated as often as I did. I tried to keep it interesting with new posts frequently and changing of the profile photograph. Cest la Vie. Cheers
